What The You Movement is About …

By Barbara August 30th, 2008

Chris Daughtry, renowned artist and American Idol Finalist has a song out called “What About Now.”  The music video is so touching and if I had to choose something to represent what the You movement can be about, it would be this.

It can not be embedded so you can see it here.

The Words in the Video:

Today, in a corner of the world

someone is hungry, homeless, hurting.

That someone could be you.

People live without light, out of sight… is that right?

I’m an average Joe just trying to make ends meet; can I make a difference?

One day, in a corner of the world, a light went on. An idea was born.

I am the difference between Justice and injustice; between right and wrong.

The voice lives on when someone take a stand and says “I am the end of poverty. I am a different path.”

It’s never too late.

I am belief in your humanity.

I am saving the world one island at a time.

I am a wave of compassion.

I am the end of ignorance.

I am the call for human rights.

LOVE can change the world.

I am jobs not jails.

I am the hands that heal all mankind.

I am light and the gift of vision.

I am the heart that keeps a child alive…

before its too late.

I am the dream that becomes reality.

I am greening our industry.

What about now?

I believe the message of this is that we all bring special gifts and talents to the table.  We can touch people’s lives each day if we simply just be ourselves and share what we are good at.  We can start now, in our own corners of the world.

Comments or Opinions?  Let us try and ask ourselves … what about NOW?
